Dear Friends and Supporters,

More than sixty years ago, A.W. Tozer wrote, “The heaviest obligation lying upon the Christian Church today is to purify and elevate her concept of God until it is once more worthy of Him – and her.” For almost half a century, Donna Margaret Greene dedicated her life to ensuring that the girls of this community received just such a pure and elevated understanding of our Heavenly Father. Her legacy of young women who both learned theological truths and developed deep relationships with God is a legacy to be envied and pursued.

When Donna passed last January, the Board of Community Ministry for Girls prayed and thought and prayed some more about what the ministry would look like without Donna. We know that no one can replace Donna. We also believe that our community continues to need a ministry dedicated to leading young women into deeper and richer relationships with Christ. To that end, we are pleased that the ministry Donna founded will continue to teach young women Biblical truths – the same Biblical truths of Christ’s love and sacrifice that Donna conveyed to more than 4,000 girls over almost half a century.

We are thankful that Mary Lauren Burdeshaw will be leading our Bible Study this year. Mary Lauren’s leadership has already helped the Bible Study to an exciting start of the new school year. I hope you will take the time to read the note from Mary Lauren on the reverse and capture a glimpse of her heart for the Lord.

While the leader of this year’s Bible Study may be different, we know that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8.) And we know that his Good News remains relevant and needed. Community Ministry for Girls is thankful for being allowed to be a part of the mission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the young women in our community. We are grateful for all who supported Donna’s unwavering commitment to sharing Jesus’s love. We thank you, and we thank God for you. We hope that you will continue to support the ministry and enable us to continue to share Christ’s love with another generation of young women.

Contributions are tax deductible and can be provided as a one-time gift or as monthly support. We are enclosing an envelope for you to return a check or, if you prefer, you can visit our website (www.cmfg-inc.org) which provides another avenue for supporters to join us.

With thanks, we rejoice over the opportunities God has provided.

Yours truly,
